Privacy notice
This privacy notice applies to any party who has signed up to the Odd Gigs waiting list, at odd-gigs.com. Odd Gigs was created by Lydia Nicholas, and is currently still under development in Paphos, Cyprus. The following describes everything that happens to your details when you sign up:
- By signing up, you are consenting to the storing and use of your data (the email address provided) for the purpose of sending you updates on the development of Odd Gigs and, if you asked for it, sharing local job opportunities (see “If you asked us to tell you about work” below)
- Your data is only stored upon clicking the link in the confirmation email we send you, as is the validity of your subscription
- Development updates will be shared occasionally
- You will receive a message and invite to join the application on the launch date
- The data is kept securely on our mailing service provider’s (Brevo) database, where it is used purely for the purpose of email updates and sharing of gigs nearby, if applicable
- We do not distribute, disclose or sell any of your details under any circumstances, to any parties aside from our service provider (Brevo)
- In the case of security breaches, or other data-related hazards, outside of our scope of control, you will be informed promptly
- Your email address shall be retained for 6 months following the launch date, or the discontinuation of the project before launch, during which time, Odd Gigs will send occasional updates concerning our application. If by the time of deletion, an account is still not registered with Odd Gigs, your data will be permanently erased from our system
This website
- This website’s hosting provider, Hostinger (server location: Frankfurt, Germany; backups: France), collects standard server logs for security and operational reasons. Odd Gigs shall never use any of said logs for identification purposes
- Specific flyers’ QR code scans are recorded and mapped against total scans across all flyers, where no individual can be traced back to their corresponding scanned flyer
Work notifications
Work notifications are a separate list from the waiting list, created to send out current gig offerings, prelaunch. Selecting only work notifications allows only emails concerning work and a notification at launch to reach your mailbox.
- Odd Gigs remembers your ticked subscription and shall only send mail according to the category/categories you selected
- Work notifications are not sent on schedule, but rather when a specific opportunity arises
- The details of those signed up with work notifications are never shared with the help-seeker, unless we receive a response stating one is interested
- Subscribers may stay on one, or both of the two lists to receive a launch email, or leave altogether at any time by clicking the link at the footer of any of our emails
- In the case of a subscriber requesting the removal from one of these subscriptions, Odd Gigs retains a record of their departure from said subscription, kept as long as their email remains within the system.
Your rights
- If you wish to remove your information from our provider’s database at any point, you can do so by requesting its removal through support@odd-gigs.com
- Any piece of your data we hold is subject to being copied and sent, altered, or deleted upon your request via the following email address support@odd-gigs.com
- If you wish to unsubscribe from all future updates, you can do so through the link in the footer of any email we send you
- In the case of a cancelled subscription, users will be offered the chance to complete a short survey related to their cause of unsubscription. Answering this survey is entirely optional, and will not impact the cancellation of said subscription.
- Your survey response is then stored alongside any other information, until the above-stated time of deletion
- You may contact the Office of the Commissioner for Personal Data Protection in Cyprus if you believe your data has been incorrectly handled
